Presbyopia is an age-related physiological phenomenon characterized by progressive nearsightedness due to the decrease of accommodative amplitude.The onset of presbyopia can significantly weaken the quality of life,and it has become a global issue of concern as the prevalence of presbyopia is increasing worldwide due to the aging of the population.It is currently believed that age is the main cause of presbyopia,but many studies have found that changes in the external environment and other conditions may also play a role in the development of presbyopia.In this review,we will present a summary of the factors related to the occurrence and severity of presbyopia.
