With the gradual development of medical technology, more and more nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients are entering the process of chronic disease management, leading to an expansion in the scope of medical care. The treatments of nasopharyngeal carcinoma include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and so on. These interventions can result in both short-term and long-term side effects such as fatigue, dry mouth, forgetfulness, oral viscosity, anxiety and depression. Such reactions have a profound impact on patients at different levels of physiology, psychology and society. By reviewing domestic and foreign literatures, this article introduces the background and significance of the patient-reported outcomes (PRO). It outlines the measurement dimensions and items associated with different PRO measures specific to nasopharyngeal carcinoma patient while highlighting existing research deficiencies. The aim is to assist clinical practitioners in selecting appropriate patients measurement tools and to provide a theoretical basis for relevant researches.
