Application of metabolomics in prognostic research of cardiovascular diseases
In China, the incidence and mortality rates of cardiovascular diseases have been consistently high, often leading to adverse prognostic outcomes once they occur, severely affecting the quality of life of patients, with high heterogeneity in prognostic outcomes. Therefore, identifying new prognostic biomarkers with clinical value holds significant importance for the early diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The rapid development of metabolomics plays a vital role in advancing prognostic research on cardiovascular diseases.Small molecular metabolites identified in research have played a certain role in the mechanisms of disease onset and progression, benefiting the prognosis prediction and personalized treatment for patients. This article provides a brief overview of recent progress in the application of metabolomics in prognostic research on cardiovascular diseases both domestically and internationally.
