Practice and attitudes of vaccination service providers to the inhaled SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in Beijing,China
Objective To investigate the practical experience, willingness to recommend, and influencing factors of vacci-nation service providers on the use of the inhalable recombinant severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)vaccine(referred to as the inhalable vaccine),to provide a basis for vaccination promotion. Methods An online questionnaire survey was conducted using the inoculation service personnel implementing inoculation in the inhalable vaccine clinics in Beijing.A multifactor logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of willingness to recom-mend.Results A total of 1 191 vaccination service providers from 138 inhalable vaccine clinics in Beijing City were sur-veyed,of whom 689 individuals(57.85%)thought the vaccination process was easy.68.93%(821/1 191)reported that they had encountered problems during inoculation, most of which were cough(67.11%,551/821)and exhalation during and after inhalation(61.88%,508/821).The proportion of problems encountered in urban areas(50.97%and 44.88%)was higher than in suburban areas(37.62%and 38.57%).30.81%(367/1 191)believed that the vaccination process needs to be optimized. The results of the willingness survey showed that 335(28.13%)indicated that they would recom-mend the inhaled vaccines to others.Better cooperation from recipients during vaccination(OR=7.96)was the biggest in-fluencing factor, then was the ability to answer questions(OR=5.22-6.56).Conclusions This study found that vaccina-tion service providers in Beijing City are able to master the method of inhalable vaccine inoculation, but their willingness to recommend this vaccine is not high.Interventions can be made by improving recipient compliance and the knowledge and abilities of inoculation service personnel while suggesting further optimization of the inhalable vaccine inoculation process.
