Vaccination coverage of three non-EPI vaccines among the national population aged ≥60 years from 2019 to 2023
Objective To estimate the coverage of influenza vaccine,23-valent polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine(PPV23),and recombinant zoster vaccine(RZV)among the national population aged 60 years and older from 2019 to 2023.Methods Descriptive analysis was performed using case data from the National Immunization Program Informa-tion System, and the vaccination coverage rates of the three vaccines were estimated at the national and provincial levels. Results The national vaccination coverage rates of influenza vaccine among the population aged 60 years and older were 1.57%,3.03%,3.75%,and 4.16%in the 2019-2023 influenza seasons, respectively. The highest coverage rates were estimated in Beijing in the first two seasons(16.06%and 18.83%)and in Zhejiang Province and Tibet autonomous region in the last two seasons(21.39%and 48.01%).The national vaccination coverage rates of PPV23 among the population aged ≥60 years were 2.35%,2.80%,and 3.23%from 2020 to 2022,with the highest coverage in Shang-hai.The national vaccination coverage rates of RZV among the population aged ≥60 years were 0.01%,0.04%,and 0.10%from 2020 to 2022,with the highest coverage in Beijing in 2022(0.54%).Conclusions The vaccination cover-age rates of the three vaccines among the national population aged ≥ 60 years showed an increasing trend from 2019 to 2023;however,a gap still exists when compared to developed countries.Rates of recombinant zoster vaccine were gen-erally low,and further interventions targeting the elderly population are necessary.
