Objective Guided by demand,to explore the current status of employees'ideology in research-oriented hospitals in the new era,aiming to enhance the effectiveness and advancement of ideological and political education.Methods Literature review was used to understand classical models of ideological and political education in university-affiliated hospitals both domestically and internationally.A questionnaire survey was conducted to assess the First Hospital of Tsinghua University employees'awareness of ideological and political education,with preliminary consideration for the establishment of a new model for ideological and political education in research-oriented hospitals.Field research was employed to understand the implementation of ideological and political education in 5 university-affiliated hospitals,as well as employees'issues and suggestions.Results 97.3%(510/524)believe that the overall situation of ideological and political education in the hospital is good.69.7%(365/524)find the lecture format to be relatively monotonous,and 39.9%(209/524)feel that the curriculum offerings lack a complete system.By defining the targets of ideological and political education,specifying talent development standards,identifying core competencies for improvement,and establishing a curriculum group,6 major course modules and 26 curriculums are determined to enrich and improve curriculum design.Integration of ideological and political education classes,diversification of lecture content,innovative teaching methods,and enhanced interest and effectiveness of ideological and political education learning are achieved.Conclusions Establishing an ideological and political education curriculum system,innovating lecture formats and educational approaches,contributes to strengthening the ideological and political education workforce,improving educational effectiveness,promoting high-quality development of hospitals,and supporting the advancement of medical disciplines.
