The shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the human body, making it susceptible to instability and dislocation, which can lead to shoulder pain or functional limitations. Shoulder dislocations accounts for about 40% of all joint dislocations, with anterior shoulder instability (ASI) being the most common type, particularly among high-risk populations where recurrence rates are high. ASI can cause structural damage to both the soft tissues and bones of the shoulder joint, further reducing joint stability. For patients with recurrent ASI,surgery is the primary treatment method aimed at restoring structural stability to the shoulder, including soft tissue repair and bone defect restoration. The authors of this paper review recent studies on surgical treatments for ASI,with the goal of providing references for clinical practice.
