Telemedicine service has rapidly developed in China in recent years. The service involves multiple participants and procedures.Infringement occurred due to legislative deficiencies and insufficient protection of patient rights of informed consent and privacy. The insufficient protection of patients'rights of informed consent includes doctor's failure to inform the patients, regional differences, and unclear definition. The insufficient protection of patients'rights of privacy includes patient monitoring throughout the services, the privacy risks in service settings, and low level of patient autonomy for their personal data. Therefore, the Telemedicine Service Management Practices(a trial implementation version)should be revised to add new contents including legal basis and application presumption of telemedicine as well as rights of informed consent and privacy.
