Air ambulance is a fast and efficient mean for emergencies such as accidents and natural disasters in remote and mountainous areas.By summarizing the experience of Pangang Group General Hospital,we investigated the necessity,feasibility,and difficulties of air ambulance in hard-to-access remote and mountainous areas.Based on the pre-hospital emergency services in Panzhihua City and its surrounding mountainous areas,an air-ground integrated air emergency service system that enables cross-regional coordination and cross-departmental linkage has been established,which will facilitate the rational allocation of air ambulance resources and allow residents in rural areas and remote mountainous areas become accessible to basic pre-hospital emergency medical services.
