Objective To explore the application of Internet hospitals in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)services,taking a tertiary TCM hospital in Beijing as an example.Methods The construction and deployment of the Internet hospital of a TCM hospital and the services it delivered in 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Results An online-offline integrated service system was effectively implemented in the hospital.There has been a steady growth in the volume of video consultations and graphic diagnosis services,reaching 129,614 person-times since 2020.In 2023,most patients undergoing online follow-up were females,and the mean age was 41 years.Self-paying patients made up 70.56%.Additionally,58.22%of medications were delivered by mail.Patients from internal medicine departments accounted for 72.65%.More than 60%of healthcare workers(doctors,pharmacists,and nurses)involved in the Internet-based consultations had a senior academic title,serving up to 77.08%of patients.In terms of medications prescribed,23.72%were prescriptions continued from previous visits,while 76.28%were adjustments or new prescriptions.The departments of psychosomatic medicine,oncology,breast surgery,gynecology,and pediatrics had the highest online-to-offline consultation rates.Among the reasons for cancellation of online appointments,patient factors accounted for 71.97%.The overall satisfaction score among the patients was 4.95 on the 5-point scale.Conclusion TCM Internet hospitals have broad development prospects.By adding featured diagnosis and treatment services,expanding service functions,and optimizing service experience,these hospitals can better satisfy patients'demands on"Cloud TCM"and promote the sustainable innovations and development of"Internet+TCM".
