Objective To develop an internal performance evaluation and management system in a public hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),aiming to achieve the high-quality development of public hospitals in the context of national performance evaluation.Methods Based on the problems and challenges identified in performance evaluation and guided by the performance evaluation indices in tertiary public TCM hospitals,a"Six Ones"performance management system was developed:"one chess game"for overall planning,"one chain"for integration,"one network"for full coverage,"one stop"for full service,"one account"for refined management,and"one spiral"for sustained improvement.Results Improvements were constantly achieved after the implementation of the new system in terms of hospital connotation construction,TCM featured departments,healthcare safety,operation and management efficiency,discipline construction,talent training,and doctor-patient relationship.Conclusion Establishing a scientific and standardized internal performance evaluation and management system in a TCM hospital is valuable for promoting the high-quality development of the hospital.
