Objective To assess the effectiveness of quality control circle(QCC)in diminishing the occurrence of nosocomial infections and the colonization of multidrug-resistant organisms(MDROs),thereby mitigating nosocomial transmission of MDROs.Methods QCC was initiated in our hospital in response to MDRO infections and colonization, and data were collected from the hospital's information system and the comprehensive management system for infection prevention and control. The pre-QCC period(January-March,2023),QCC period(April-June,2023),and post-QCC period(July-September,2023)were compared in terms of the incidence of nosocomial infection and colonization of MDROs as well as the implementation of key measures in major departments. Results Following the implementation of QCC,the incidence of nosocomial infection and in-hospital colonization of MDROs significantly decreased from 0.38%and 0.35%to 0.13%and 0.09%,respectively(both P<0.05).Additionally,the implementation rate of prevention and control measures for MDROs and the implementation in major departments have markedly improved. Conclusion QCC is effective in reducing the incidence of nosocomial infections and colonization of MDROs,mitigate the risk of cross-transmission of MDROs within hospitals, enhance the quality of healthcare delivery, and improve patient safety.
