Objective To evaluate the performance and progress of the construction of the National Cancer Regional Medical Center by identifying key issues,thus providing suggestions on promoting the high-quality construction of the center.Methods A field investigation was carried out in the center,a questionnaire-based survey was done in 635 medical staffs from the outputting and supported hospitals,and 19 interview opinions were solicited from relevant departments.Descriptive analysis and Chi-square test were used for statistical analyses.Results Medical staff had high awareness of the project,low engagement,and strong willingness to participate.Insufficient human resources and low capacity of the supported hospital were the main challenges faced by medical staffs and departments in completing the construction tasks.Conclusion Progress has been made in the construction of National Cancer Regional Medical Center.To promote the high-quality construction of the center,the outputting hospital should adhere to the Performance Evaluation of Tertiary Public Hospitals,strengthen talent training,and increase the awareness-raising and mobilization efforts,whereas the supported hospital should further mobilize talents,strengthen the construction support,and improve the supporting mechanism involving multiple stakeholders.
