Objective To understand the current status of motherhood role adaptation in primiparous women and to analyze the correlation between motherhood role adaptation and health literacy and sense of psychological congruence.Methods A sample of 180 primigravid women admitted to the Department of Obstetrics of Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University from June 2022 to May 2023 was selected for the survey.The general information question-naire,Chinese version of the psychological consistency questionnaire,perinatal maternal health literacy scale,and mother's role adaptation questionnaire were used for the assessment.Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were used to screen for factors affecting adaptation to the role of motherhood in primiparous women.Pearson's analysis was used to ana-lyze the correlation between mother role adaptation and health literacy and sense of psychological congruence.Results The role adaptation score of 180 primiparous mothers was(53.45±7.22),health literacy score was(184.62±22.34),and sense of psychological congruence score was(55.34±8.54).Primigravida being an only child,artificial feeding,primigravida's literacy level of high school and below versus different rooms for mother and baby are risk factors for primigravida's mother role ad-aptation(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between mother role adaptation and both health literacy and sense of psy-chological congruence(P<0.05).Conclusion The scores of mother's role adaptation and health literacy and psychological consistency of primiparous women were moderate and there was a positive correlation between mother's role adaptation and health literacy and psychological consistency of primiparous women.It is suggested that medical personnel should pay close attention to the level of health literacy and psychological consistency of primiparous women and adopt targeted health educa-tion to enhance their ability to adapt to the role of mothers.
