To explore the value of TLR4/NF-κB pathway molecules and its downstream inflammatory factors in endometrial polyp tissue
Objective To study the expression of TLR4(Toll-like receptor 4)/NF-κB(nuclear factor κB)pathway molecules and its downstream inflammatory factors in endometrial polyp(EP)tissue and to analyze the correlation with EP occurrence. Methods The patients with EP in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital were selected as the EP group, and the patients who underwent hysteroscopy due to infertility and were confirmed to be normal hyperplasia of endometrium by pathology were selected as the control group.Polyp tissue samples were accurately obtained by hysteroscopic cold knife resection. The expression of TLR4/NF-κB pathway molecules and its downstream inflammatory factors were measured. Results The mRNA and protein expression levels of TLR4,NF-κB and IL-6 in polyp tissue of EP groups were significantly higher than those in normal endometrial tissue of control groups. The mRNA expression of IL-6 in polyp tissue of EP groups was posi-tively correlated with the mRNA of TLR4 and NF-κB.Conclusion The excessive activation of TLR4/NF-κB pathway in EP is associated with abnormal secretion of inflammatory cytokine IL-6.It is suggested that the local active inflammatory response and immune imbalance may be related to the occurrence and development of endometrial polyps.
