Correlation between the expression levels of ferroptosis-related proteins HSPB1 and caspase-1 in breast cancer tissues and the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients
Objective To explore the correlation between the expression levels of ferroptosis-related proteins heat shock protein beta-1(HSPB1)and cysteinyl aspartate-specific protease-1(caspase-1)in breast cancer tissues and the clinico-pathological characteristics and prognosis of patients. Methods A total of 51 patients with breast cancer(experimental group)and 51 patients with breast adenosis(reference group diagnosed)in Tongling People's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were recruited.Immunohistochemistry was applied to detect the expression of HSPB1 and caspase-1.Kaplan-Meier method was applied to analyze the relationship between HSPB1,caspase-1 and the prognosis of breast cancer patients.COX regression model was applied to analyze the factors for the prognosis of breast cancer patients. Results The high expression rate of HSPB1 in the breast tissue of the experimental group was higher than that of the reference group, while the high ex-pression rate of caspase-1 was lower than that of the reference group(P>0.05).The expression of HSPB1 and caspase-1 was related to estrogen receptor(ER),lymph node metastasis, tumor node metastasis(TNM)staging, and progesterone receptor(PR)(P<0.05).The 18-month survival rate of patients with high expression of HSPB1 was lower(56.25%vs 89.47%),and the 18-month survival rate of patients with low expression of caspase-1 was lower(57.14%vs 93.75%)(P<0.05).TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,lymph node metastasis, high expression of ER,high expression of PR,high expression of HSPB1,and low expression of caspase-1 were all risk factors for death of breast cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion In breast cancer tissue,HSPB1 is high-expressed and caspase-1 is low-expressed,and both of them are related to the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients.
