Objective:Flavonoid and phenolic acid substances are the main active substances in Apocynum venetum. To identify components of flavonoid and phenolic acid metabolites in different A.venetum species and compare the differences in metabolite contents,so as to provide theoretical basis for effective utilization of A.venetum genus medicinal resources. Methods:The secondary metabolites were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)in leaves of A.venetum and A.cannabinum.Results:275 flavonoids and 194 phenolic acids were detected in the two A.venetum.PCA analysis showed that there were differences in the metabolites of the two species of A.venetum, and 124 significantly different metabolites were screened in combination with OPLS-DA,including 80 fla-vonoids and 44 phenolic acids. The enrichment analysis revealed that a total of 10 metabolic pathways were significantly enriched, mainly reflected in the phenylpropane biosynthesis pathway, flavonoid biosynthesis pathway and flavonoid and flavonol biosynthesis pathway. Conclusion:The two species of A.venetum had similar types of medicinal components, providing a theoretical basis that A.cannabi-num could be developed as a medicinal plant.
