Objective:To study the effects of adding exogenous fibrous roots of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis on its rhizosphere soil nutrients, microbial numbers and soil enzyme activities under natu-ral decomposition conditions. Methods:In the preset experiment,four-year-old and five-year-old P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis seedlings were used as experimental materials, and different doses of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis fibrous roots were added to the test soil to study the effects of their decom-position on rhizosphere soil physical and chemical properties, microbial numbers and soil enzyme activities. Results:The results showed that root vigor, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal infection intensi-ty,contents of total extracted glomerin and easy-to-extract glomamycin were inhibited by fibrous root decomposition products of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.The pH,the content of available nitrogen(AN),available phosphorus(AP)and organic matter(OM),the activity of phosphatase and urease were declined by the natural decomposition of the fibrous roots of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.The number of bacteria, actinomycetes and total microbial counts were reduced, and the number of fungal and the activity of sucrase were increased. With the increase of fibrous roots application rate, the de-crease or increase range of the above indicators gradually increased.Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between urease activity and soil pH,AN,AP and OM contents, which indicated that its activity could be used as an important indicator to characterize the changes of soil physicochemical properties of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis continuous cropping.Con-clusion:The physical and chemical properties of the rhizosphere soil was changed by the natural decom-position of the remaining fibrous roots, which may be one of the important factors causing continuous cropping obstacles in the process of artificial planting of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.In actual production, avoiding fibrous roots is an effective measure to ensure the growth, development and qual-ity formation of P.poliphylla var.yunnanensis.
