Objective:To compare the secondary metabolites profiles and antioxidant activity between'Hull'and'Chester',two blackberry cultivars in Lishui district of Nanjing. Methods:An UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS based non-targeted plant metabolomics method was established to characterize the chemical profiles of'Hull'and'Chester'.The contents of total phenols, total flavonoids, total proanthocyanidins, total anthocyanin and total triterpenoid acids were quantified by UV-Vis.Then,the antioxidant activity between two cultivars was evaluated. Results:A total of 42 components were identified.Cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside was detected only in'Hull',and cyanidin-3-O-xyloside was only in'Chester'.Two eus-caphic acid isomers were respectively detected in two blackberry cultivars. Moreover, the contents of total phenols, total flavonoids and total proanthocyanidins had no significant difference between two cultivars. The content of total anthocyanin in'Chester'was 20.8%higher than that in'Hull',while the content of total triterpenoid acids in'Hull'was 55.3%higher than that in'Chester'.The results of antioxi-dant activity showed that both had strong free radical scavenging ability, while the scavenging rates and IC50 values of'Hull'on DPPH and ABTS radical were better than'Chester'.Conclusion:Both the compositions contents of bioactive substances and antioxidant activity were different between'Hull'and'Chester'.Whether the quality difference between two blackberry cultivars affected the qualities and bio-activities of their processed products need further investigation.
