Objective:To evaluate the inhibitory effect of the ethanol extract from Vaccinium bractea-tum on α-glucosidase,and to compare the differential metabolic components from different producing areas. Methods:The inhibition rate of α-glucosidase by the ethanol extract of V.bracteatum was deter-mined in vitro. The comparative metabolomics of the ethanol extract were studied by liquid chromatog-raphy-mass spectrometry(LC-MS).Results:The inhibitory effect of the ethanol extract from V.brac-teatum on α-glucosidase in autumn was better than that in spring. In four areas,AutFJ exhibited the best inhibition effect on α-glucosidase,with the half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 28.50 μg/mL.The inhibitory reaction type was mixed inhibition with Ki of 0.185 mg/mL.A total of 4 654 metabolites were annotated in four regional autumn samples.Correlations were small between AutFJ and other samples.Twelve compounds in AutFJ had a higher relative content compared to the oth-er three samples. These compounds included Chlorogenic acid,Cyanidin,Quercitrin,Arbutin,Astax-anthin,Kaempferol,Neohesperidin and Naringin, etc. Conclusion:The ethanol extract from V.bracte-atum inhibited α-glucosidase with significant differences among different regions. This study could pro-vide a data basis for the research and development of sugar-lowering food related to V.bracteatum.
