Objective:A comprehensive survey was conducted in Renhuai City to assess the status of traditional Chinese medicinal resources and investigate the market and circulation of Chinese medicinal materials.Methods:The survey followed the technical specifications of the Fourth National Survey of Chinese Medicine Resources,utilizing field surveys and market visits.Results:A total of 41 sample plots and 1 230 sample quadrats were investigated,resulting in the collection of 566 medicinal plant species belonging to 130 families and 365 genera,with 127 species included in the 2020 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Herbaceous plants were found to be predominant,accounting for 48.94%of the total species,with aerial parts and roots or rhizomes being the most utilized plant parts(72.09%of the total species).Cold and bitter tastes were the most common medicinal properties,accounting for 27.09%and 41.34%of the total species,respectively.Conclusion:Renhuai City possessed a relatively abundant resource of traditional Chinese medicinal materials,but faced challenges such as a lack of specificity and lagging development in the industry.It was recommended that local governments formu-late rational plans for the development of the traditional Chinese medicinal materials industry to pro-mote sustainable utilization of these resources.
