Objective:To investigate the effect of different habitat processing methods on the quality of Platycodon grandiflorum slices and determine the optimal processing method.Methods:P.grandiflo-rum slices were processed using various drying methods after fresh-cutting,with recording of process-ing durations and evaluation of the appearance of the slices.High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to determine the content of platycodin D(PD)in the slices. The content of total sa-ponins,total polysaccharides, and total flavonoids was conducted using spectrophotometry. The alco-hol extract content was evaluated, and a comprehensive evaluation was conducted using the entropy-weighted technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)method. Results:Among the different processing methods, slices prepared by semi-drying followed by hot air drying ex-hibited superior appearance. These slices scored the highest in the comprehensive evaluation based on PD,total saponin, total polysaccharide, total flavonoid, and alcohol extract contents, with a shorter processing time, making it suitable as the initial processing method for the origin. Conclusion:The op-timized habitat processing method for P.grandiflorum is feasible, with a simple and practical process, providing a reference for the initial processing of P.grandiflorum from different origins.
