Effects of Different Concentrations and Treatment Methods of Gibberellin on Seed Germination of Kalidium foliatum in Qaidam Basin,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Objective:To explore the effects of two different gibberellin treatment methods and gibberel-lin concentrations on the germination indexes of Kalidium foliatum seeds, with the aim of obtaining the effects of different factors on the germination of K.foliatum and seeking the most suitable conditions to improve the germination of K.foliatum seeds. Methods:The germination status was recorded and mea-sured using the culture dish-filter paper method, and indicators such as germination rate, germination potential, and germination index were calculated.Results:(1)In the early soaking group, with the in-crease of gibberellin concentration, the germination rate, germination potential and germination index of K.foliatum seeds also increased, showing a positive correlation, but the germination index was smaller than that of the control group.(2)In the daily drip group, the change of gibberellin concentra-tion had no significant effect on the germination of K.foliatum seeds, and the germination indexes were higher than those of the control group.(3)When the concentration of gibberellin was between 200 mg/L and 1 000 mg/L,the germination rate of K.foliatum seeds was between 92.22%and 98.89%under the daily drip, treatment, while the germination rate of K.foliatum seeds was between 56.67%and 80%un-der the early soaking treatment, with the former significantly higher than the latter.Conclusion:(1)In the early soaking group, low concentrations of gibberellin did not promote the germination of K.folia-tum seeds.(2)In the daily drip group,200~1 000 mg/L gibberellin had a promoting effect on the ger-mination of the K.foliatum seeds.(3)When the concentration of gibberellin was between 200~1 000 mg/L,the daily drip method was more suitable for the germination of K.foliatum seeds.
