A genus of vascular plants,Petrocodon Hance(Gesneriaceae)and its newly recorded spe-cies,Petrocodon chongqingensis F.Wen,B.Pan&L.Y.Su,were identified by field investigation,da-ta retrieval and specimen comparison.The detailed morphological description,main identification char-acteristics and color plate of the newly recorded species were described.The voucher specimens were deposited in Guangxi Herbarium(IBK).The IUCN endangered grade assessment and conservation sta-tus of the species were evaluated.
