As one of the national key protected and endangered plants in China,Cyclocarya paliurus is a unique single species genus tree,which is an extremely important rare woody plant.It can be used for lowering blood sugar,blood pressure,blood lipids,enhancing the body's immunity,antioxida-tion,and anti-aging,especially repairing damaged pancreatic islets β.So its characteristics have at-tracted widespread attention in recent years.However,the seed of Cyclocarya paliurus with severe abortion and deep dormancy,has a very low coefficient of sexual reproduction.Its effective utilization was greatly limited in the resource scarcity and reproduction.An analysis had been conducted in germ-plasm resource screening,sexual reproduction,asexual reproduction,and targeted cultivation of Cyc-locarya paliurus.And some unresolved issues were summarized,such as the difficult rooting,asexual reproduction,pollution,browning,and vitrification during tissue culture.Expected solutions and fu-ture research directions had been proposed,aiming to provide reference for further cultivation of Cyclo-carya paliurus.
