Objective:To understand the composition of vascular plants in Liuyang River National Wet-land Park, and to provide a theoretical basis for the protection of plant diversity in this area. Methods:Based on the existing vegetation data, the vascular plants within the scope of Liuyang River National Wetland Park were investigated and analyzed by using the method of combining line survey and spot survey.Results:(1)There were 535 species of vascular plants in 348 genera and 123 families within the scope of the wetland park, including 12 species of ferns in 11 genera and 9 families, and 523 spe-cies of seed plants in 337 genera and 114 families. The composition of plants was dominated by large families and single species genera.(2)The vascular plants in the wetland park had both subtropical and temperate components. The distribution type of genera(15 species)was more extensive than that of families(12 species). The geographical composition of families was mainly tropical, and the geograph-ical composition of genera showed the characteristics of the half intersection of tropical and temperate regions. There were 9 genera and 11 species endemic to China.(3)Comparing with the river wetlands in Hunan Province,it was found that the number of wild plant species per unit area was not advanta-geous,and the geographical composition of plants was most close to that of Xuanzhou National Wet-land Park. Conclusion:In the future management of Liuyang River National Wetland Park,it was ad-visable to further strengthen the protection of native vegetation resources and reasonably control the de-velopment area and intensity.Combined with the current situation of Xuanzhou National Wetland Park,it was advisable to introduce appropriate species to promote the diversity of plants in the wetland. In this way,the stability of the ecosystem in the area could be maintained.
