Based on the Guangdong Forest Tree Germplasm Resources Project,field surveys of sam-ple lines and sample plots were conducted to determine the status of wild forest tree resources in Feng-kai County.This involved investigating species composition,flora characteristics and resource utiliza-tions,supported by a review of existing literature.The results showed that there were 83 families,209 genera,and 380 species of wild forest germplasm resources in Fengkai County,including 1 family,1 genera,and 1 species of ferns,1 family,1 genera,and 2 species of gymnosperms,81 families,207 genera,and 377 species of angiosperms.Upon geographic zonation analysis of the plants in Fengkai County,it was found that the wild forest germplasm resources in this area were dominant by the tropi-cal composition,exhibiting distinct tropical-subtropical properties.Futhermore,according to the use of plant resources,the wild forest germplasm resources in Fengkai County were divided into 15 types,including medicinal,ornamental,material,and edible,with medicinal plants being the most abun-dant.Fengkai County was rich in forest germplasm resources and offered a variety of resource utiliza-tion types.It was suggested that the local government rationally develop and utilize these resources,while also exploring the medicinal,material and ornamental values of forest germplasm resources to promote the sustainable development in Fengkai County.
