Objective:Screened the optimal process for ultrasonic extraction of polyphenols from Coni-oselinum vaginatum, and evaluated the antioxidant activity. Methods:The optimal ultrasonic extrac-tion process for C.vaginatum was determined by single factor method combined with response surface methodology(RSM).The antioxidant properties of C.vaginatum was evaluated by DPPH radical scav-enging activity and Fe3+reduction test. Results:The best operating experiment conditions for C.vagina-tum were as following:extraction time was 40 minutes, ethanol solutions was 62%,and the solid-liq-uid ratio was 1∶40(g⋅mL-1).Under the above conditions, the extraction yields of polyphenols from C.vaginatum was 3.43% .The scavenging ability of C.vaginatum polyphenols on DPPH free radicals and the redution ability of Fe3+exhibited an upward trend with the increase of concentration. The IC50 values of C.vaginatum for scavenging DPPH free radicals was 0.37 mg·mL-1.Conclusion:The estab-lished process validation test results were close to the predicted extraction rate, indicating that the mod-el was well established.Polyphenols from C.vaginatum had certain antioxidant potential and had a good prospects of development and application.
