Objective:To analyze the current research status, development trends, and hotspots of Phragmites australis in China, and to provide a reference for further studies. Methods:The core jour-nal literature related to P.australis was selected as the study object in the China Knowledge Network In-frastructure(CNKI)database from 1992 to 2022.Bibliometrics and visualization methods were em-ployed to analyze the number of articles, research institutions, citations to papers and keyword co-oc-currence.Results:A total of 2602 articles were published between 1992 and 2022,showing an overall increasing trend. The top three research institutions were East China Normal University,University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology,Chinese Acade-my of Sciences.Highly cited papers accounted for 39.01%of the total publications, with universities being the primary reseach institutions.P.australis,wetlands,artificial wetlands, the Yellow River Del-ta,Spartina alterniflora, wetland plants and reed wetland were current research hotspots. Conclusion:Remote sensing monitoring, plant carbon sequestration and plant invasion will become priority re-search areas in the future.
