Objective:To master the species,quantities,distributions,medicinal uses and cultivations of Rhodiola plants in Gansu Province,providing a basis for the protection and rational development and utilization of Rhodiola plants in this area.Method:Based on the data of the Fourth National Survey of Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources and field investigations,and by consulting materials such as Flora of China,Flora of Gansu Province,Flora of Sichuan Province,Flora of Qinghai Province and Flora of Tibetan Medicine Plants in Gannan,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,the original plants were iden-tified.Results:There were 20 species of Rhodiola plants distributed in Gansu Province,among which 13 species had medicinal value.The main variety was Rhodiola kirilowii that was artificially cultivat-ed,but the planting scale needed to be expanded.Conclusion:Rhodiola plant resources were diverse and of high value,with significant economic and ecological benefits.However,the damaged growth environments and blind digging led to the increasingly depletion of these resources.Therefore,the re-sources of Rhodiola plants urgently needed rational development,utilization and protection.
