Objective:To explore the changes of Chamerion angustifolium seeds germination character-istics and antioxidant enzyme activities under different degrees of salt and drought stress, providing a reference basis for the propagation and cultivation of C.angustifolium,as well as the development and utilization of its landscaping and medicinal values. Methods:Using C.angustifolium seeds as experi-mental materials, the effects of gibberellin(GA3)treatment,drought(PEG-6000)stress and salt(Na-Cl)stress on the seeds germination of C.angustifolium were analyzed. Results:The seeds of C.angus-tifolium were small, with yellow-brown epidermis, and the weight of thousand grains was only(77.1±8.2)mg.When the GA3 concentration ranges from 100 to 200 mg·L-1,both the germination rate and germination potential of C.angustifolium seeds increased with the increase of GA3 concentration.How-ever,when the concentration exceeded 200 mg·L-1,the germination potential and the germination rate showed a tendency of decreasing. As the concentration of PEG-6000 and NaCl increased, the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD)and catalase(CAT)in C.angustifolium seedlings increased significantly, showing a highly significant positive correlation with the degree of stress.Con-clusion:The differences in germination rate and germination potential between different concentrations of NaCl and PEG treatments were significant(P<0.05).The germination rate of C.angustifolium seeds decreased gradually with the increase of NaCl and PEG concentrations. The seeds of C.angustifo-lium could not germinate when the concentration of NaCl exceeded 150 mmol·L-1 or the concentration of PEG-6000 exceeded 15%.
