To understand the plant composition of subalpine wetlands and fill the shortage of plant data on wetlands in the southeast of Shennongjia,the Baliping wetland in Taiyangping,Songluo Township,southeast of Shennongjia Forestry District was selected as the study area.The species diversity and typi-cal communities of bryophytes,ferns and seed plants in the study area were counted and analyzed,and the particularity of higher plants distributed at medium and high altitudes were emphatically analyzed.The results showed that there were 546 species of higher plants in 333 genera and 119 families,includ-ing 30 species of bryophytes in 24 genera and 18 families,33 species of ferns in 23 genera and 14 fami-lies,and 483 species of seed plants in 286 genera and 87 families.The plant communities mainly in-cluded Aulacomnium androgynum community,Fagus engleriana forest,Spiarea community,Equise-tum arvense+Juncus effuses community,and Geranium wilfordii community.The results of this study could provide information and protection references for the study of plant composition and subalpine wetland plants in the southeast of Shennongjia.
