Epilepsy and migraine are two common chronic episodic neurological disorders in neurology, with central excitability or hyperresponsiveness being the basis of their pathophysiology.Epilepsy and migraine both have clinical characteristics such as episodic and stereotyped symptoms, and share the pathogenesis of cortical spreading inhibition and ion channel abnormalities. The two often share common symptoms and have similarities in treatment.Multiple antiepileptic drugs can be used to prevent migraine attacks. This article provides a review of comorbid migraines with epilepsy from the perspectives of epidemiology, pathogenesis, susceptibility factors, classification and diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
