On the source of plural markers he/wu(禾/物)and related possessive personal pronouns in Gan dialects:Also on location words wu(屋),jia(家)and la(拉)as plural/possessive markers
The paper proposes that the etymology of both plural markers, the he(禾)in Ji'an and Taihe Gan dialects and the wu(物)in Anfu Gan dialects,is not identified as he(和)or wu(物)but as wu(屋).Besides, the possessive forms of personal pronouns in Ji'an and Daye Gan dialects are derived from wu(屋)or the combination of wuli(屋里).Furthermore, location words such as wu(屋),jia(家)and la(拉)can also function as plural markers or markers of certain possessive relation. This is related with their implied collective meaning and the indication of possession domain.
