Study on flavonoids and phenolic acids from Abrus mollis Hance
In this paper, the chemical constituents of Abrus mollis Hance were systematically studied.Five flavonoids and nine phenolic acids were isolated from CH2Cl2 and EtOAc fraction of 70%EtOH extracts from A.mollis by the means of column chromatography and preparative-HPLC,etc.The structures were identified as 2α,3α-epoxy-5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxyflavan-(4β-8-epicatechin)(1),epicatechin-[8,7-e]-4β-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-dihydro-2(3H)-pyranone(2),(±)-maesopsin(3),7-hydroxy-4'-methoxy dihydroflavone(4),2S-liquirtigenin(5),N-p-hydroxy-trans-coumaroyltyramine(6),N-p-hydroxy-cis-coumaroyltyramine(7),N-[4'-hydroxy-(E)-cinnamoyl]-L-tryptophan methyl ester(8),N-[4'-hydroxy-(Z)-cinnamoyl]-L-tryptophan methyl ester(9),methyl feruate(10),3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyacetophenone(11),methyl vanillate(12),trans-coumaric acid methyl ester(13),and acetovanillone(14)based on the spectral data analyses, physicochemical properties and comparison with reported compounds.Compounds 1-4 and 6-9 were isolated from Abrus genus for the first time, while compounds 5 and 10-14 were firstly obtained from A.mollis.
