Study on chemical constituents of branches and leaves of Ficus esquiroliana
In order to deeply explore the enormous potential of Chinese medicinal plants in treating and preventing major human diseases,a chemical investigation on the branches and leaves of Ficus esquiroliana was thus carried out.The ethanol extracts of this plant were systematically separated and purified by integrating silica gel column chromatography,ODS chromatography,Sephadex LH-20 chromatography, and semi-prepared HPLC.NMR,MS and optical rotation were used to identify the structures of compounds.Seventeen compounds(1-17)were isolated from F.esquiroliana, including two coumarins(1 and 2),two sesquiterpenes(3 and 4),two phenylpropanoids(5 and 8),two flavones(6 and 7),seven triterpenoids(9,10,13-17),and two sterides(11 and 12).All compounds were isolated for the first time from F.esquiroliana, and compounds 1-4,6-8,and 11-17 were isolated for the first time from the genus Ficus.
