Preliminary studies on the microbial transformation products of cepharanthine
In this study,a liquid fermentation technique was employed to identify fungal strains capable of biotransforming cepharanthine, resulting in the isolation of multiple derivatives. The fermentation products were obtained through co-culturing the selected strains with cepharanthine utilizing this method. The products were analyzed using TLC and HPLC to screen the target strains. Two strains,YNJ9 and YNJ135,with cepharanthine transformation capabilities were screened, and strain Penicillium camponotum YNJ9 was chosen for further investigation of cepharanthine transformation products. The conversion products were isolated using multiple separation techniques and identified based on their physicochemical properties and spectral data as 2-norcepharanthine hydrochloride(1),cepharanthine-2-α-N-oxide(2)and cepharanthine-2'-α-N-oxide(3).This study marks the first report on the microbial transformation of cepharanthine, offering novel insights for further exploration of cepharanthine and its derivatives.
