The intervention effect of extended care program based on family member support during the medication treatment of children with asthma
Objective:To explore the clinical application value of extended care service based on family member support in assisting conventional treatment for asthma. Methods:A total of 106 children with asthma admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were randomly divided into an extended care group(n=53)and a control group(n=53).Both groups received conventional treatment, the control group received conventional care, and the extended care group received extended care services based on family member support on top of the conventional care. The two groups were compared for lung function[forced expiratory volume in first second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR),forced vital capacity(FVC)],prognosis, treatment compliance, and emotional status[Childhood Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders(SCARED)].Results:After intervention, the PEFR,FEV1,and FVC values in the extended care group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the prognosis between the two groups(P>0.05);the scores for cooperation in examination, taking medication on time, avoiding incentives, and returning for follow-up on time were higher in the extended care group than in the control group(P<0.05);the SCARED scores for each dimension were lower in the extended care group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Extended care service based on family member support and assisted by conventional treatment can improve lung function, emotional well-being,and treatment compliance in children with asthma.
