Study on the Risk and Protective Factors of Drug Addiction in Drug Addicts
Objective:To investigate the dangers and protective factors of drug addiction. Methods:A total of 139 male individuals undergoing compulsory isolation and rehabilitation in two drug rehabilitation centers in Nanchang City(referred to as compulsory rehabilitation individuals)were selected as subjects.Demographic information of the individuals was collected, and a measurement questionnaire was administered.Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and canonical correlation analysis were employed for data analysis. Results:The results of the correlation analysis showed that the addiction level was positively correlated with the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire P dimension(r=0.190)and N dimension(r=0.218).It also showed a positive correlation with general maladjustment(r=0.320),and Barratt impulsivity(r=0.213).Psychological resilience was negatively correlated with Barratt impulsivity(r=-0.45).The results of canonical correlation analysis showed that only one pair of canonical variables had a significant correlation(r=0.455,P=0.044).An analysis was conducted on this pair of canonical variables, the contribution analysis of drug addiction revealed that the contribution of general maladjustment was 0.691,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire N dimension was 0.499,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire P dimension was 0.462,income level was-0.302,and psychological resilience was-0.270.Conclusion:Psychological resilience and income level are protective factors for drug addiction, while the P and N dimensions of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and general maladjustment are risk factors for drug addiction.
