Effect of Gabapentin Combined with Carbamazepine in the Treatment of Refractory Epilepsy
Objective:To explore the therapeutic effect of gabapentin combined with carbamazepine in the treatment of refractory epilepsy. Methods:From March 2022 to January 2023,102 patients with refractory epilepsy diagnosed and treated in our hospital were divided into control group(51 patients)and experimental group(51 patients)according to the digital lottery method. The control group was treated with carbamazepine, and the experimental group was treated with gabapentin combined with carbamazepine. The overall efficacy, seizure frequency and EEG indexes of the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate of the experimental group was 88.24%,which was higher than 70.59%of the control group(P<0.05);the frequency of epileptic seizures in the experimental group was less than that in the control group, and the duration of seizures was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05);the relative power of α-band and β-band EEG in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the relative power of δ-band and θ-band EEG was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Gabapentin combined with carbamazepine can enhance the clinical efficacy of refractory epilepsy, reduce seizures, and can effectively improve the EEG indicators of patients.
