Value of IPP in Predicting the Effect of α-blocker in the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective:To investigate the value of intravesical prostatic protrusion(IPP)in predicting the efficacy of α-blocker in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:A retrospective analysis of 85 patients with BPH admitted to our hospital from December 2021 to December 2023 was selected. All patients were treated with α-receptor blockers.According to the therapeutic effect of the patients, they were divided into effective group and ineffective group. The clinical data and disease-related characteristics of the two groups were compared.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the difference items and obtain the factors affecting the clinical efficacy of the patients. The ROC curve was drawn to analyze the predictive value of IPP in the treatment of BPH with α-blockers.Results:A total of 85 patients with BPH were included.According to the clinical efficacy, the patients were divided into effective group(58 patients,68.24%)and ineffective group(27 patients,27.78%).There were significant differences in IPP,PVR and PSA levels between the ineffective group and the effective group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that IPP,PVR and PSA levels were independent factors affecting the efficacy of α-receptor blockers in the treatment of BPH.By drawing the ROC diagram,it was found that the AUC values of IPP,PVR and PSA levels were 0.816,0.638 and 0.721,respectively,with high sensitivity and specificity. The AUC value of IPP was higher than that of PVR and PSA(P<0.05),which had a high value in predicting the effect of α-receptor blockers in the treatment of BPH.Conclusion:IPP,PVR and PSA are all factors affecting the therapeutic effect of patients. The AUC value of IPP is higher, which can be used to predict the effect of α-blocker in the treatment of BPH.
