Patient Status of Methadone Maintenance Treatment Clinics from 2006 to 2023 in Xiamen
Objective:To analyze the patient status of methadone maintenance treatment(MMT)clinics in Xiamen,in order to provide reference for improvement measures.Methods:Data were collected from the information system of Chinese maintenance treatment program.The related data such as general characteristics,the number of patients,average daily dose was analyzed.Results:Most patients were male and between 30-49 years old.The number of patients increased from 323 to 1438 first and then declined during 2006 and 2023.Few patients could persist in long-term maintenance treatment.The average daily dose increased from 37.7 mg to 59.93 mg first and then declined.The positive rate of urine morphine continued to decrease from 63.32%to 0.33%.Total of 26 patients infected HIV received MMT.The cumulative positive rate of hepatitis C virus(HCV)reached 70.02%.Conclusion:The MMT work in Xiamen has achieved phased result.Corresponding measures should be carried out to address issues such as declining treatment numbers and high positive rate of HCV.
