Mechanisms and therapeutic approaches targeting calcium channels in hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy
Gestational hypertension can have adverse effects on both the mother's and fetus's health. The expression level of calcium ion channels in vascular smooth muscle cells is elevated in patients with gestational hypertension compared to normal pregnancy, which may lead to increased intracellular calcium ion concentration, resulting in vasoconstriction and elevated blood pressure. The purpose of this article is to discuss the mechanism of action of calcium ion channels in gestational hypertension and investigate their potential value in the treatment strategy for this disease, providing novel ideas and methods for the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
