Application effect of an improved oxygen respirator in patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure
Objective To explore the application effect of an improved oxygen respirator in patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure. Methods A total of 88 patients with type Ⅰ respiratory failure who were admitted to our department between October 2022 and November 2023 were selected, and their clinical data were collected. The patients were divided into a control group and an observation group based on the type of oxygen mask used. The control group received treatment with antibiotics and conventional oxygen mask inhalation, while the observa-tion group received treatment with antibiotics and an improved oxygen respirator. The incidence rates of pulse oxy-gen saturation(SpO2)decrease,water choking, bloating, and patient satisfaction scores were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence rates of SpO2 decline and waterdrinking choking in the two groups were 21%and 15%,respectively,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the ob-servation group showed an improvement in patient satisfaction score by 2.9 points, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The incidence rate of abdominal distension decreased by 4%,but the difference was not sta-tistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of the improved oxygen respirator in patients with typeⅠ respiratory failure can reduce the incidence rates of SpO2 decrease and water choking caused by oxygen inter-ruption,contribute to increased patient satisfaction, and provide significant benefits to patients. It can be widely applied in clinical practice.
