Effects of modified Sangjuyin Decoction on airway function,induced sputum indicators and inflammatory factors in cough variant asthma with wind-heat invading lung syndrome
Objective To investigate the effect of modified Sangjuyin decoction on airway function,induced sputum indicators,and inflammatory factors in cough variant asthma with wind-heat invading lung syndrome.Methods A total of 127 patients with cough variant asthma of wind-heat invading lung syndrome treated in our hospital from May 2020 to May 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group(n=64)and control group(n=63).The control group was given only basic Western medicine treatment,while the observation group were given basic Western treatment plus Sangjuyin decoction.The clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment,daytime and nighttime cough symptom scores,airway function,induced sputum indicators,and inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 95%,significantly higher than that of the control group(84%,P<0.05).The scores of TCM syndromes and daytime and nighttime cough cores in both groups decreased,and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The levels of eosinophil(EOS),serum inflammatory factors[interleukin-4(IL-4),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)]in both groups decreased,and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The airway function indicators[vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1)and maximal mid-expiratory flow(MMEF)]in both groups increased,and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).No significant adverse reactions occurred in the observation group.Conclusion Sangjuyin modified therapy can effectively improve the airway function of patients with cough variant asthma caused by wind-heat invading lung,reduces induced sputum inflammatory indexes,and serum inflammatory factor levels,and can also reduce the recurrence rate with good safety and significant efficacy.
