Effects of Sanpi Xiaocuo decoction combined with fire acupuncture on serum DHEA,IGF-1,IL-4 levels and prognosis in patients with acne vulgaris(lung meridian wind-heat syndrome)
Objective To observe the influence of Sanpi Xiaocuo decoction combined with fire acupunc-ture on serum dehydroandrosterone(DHEA),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),interleukin-4(IL-4)and prognosis in patients with acne vulgaris(lung meridian wind-heat syndrome). Methods A total of 80 patients with acne vul-garis(lung meridian wind-heat syndrome)admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences were selected from January 2022 to December 2023,and were divided into a observation group(n=42,Sanpi Xiaocuo decoction combined with fire acupuncture treatment)and a control group(n=38,fire acupuncture treatment)according to different treatment methods. The two groups had the same basic treatment methods. After 4 weeks of treatment, the efficacy, symptom regression time, endocrine disorder indexes of DHEA,IGF-1,IL-4 and incidence rates of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group(98%)was higher than that in the control group(84%)(P<0.05).The regression times of skin lesions(skin rash, nodules, acne, pustules)in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.001).The levels of DHEA,IGF-1 and IL-4 in the two groups were decreased after treatment, and the levels were lower in the observation group(P<0.001).The incidence of adverse reactions was 5%(2 cases)in the observation group and 11%(4 cases)in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Sanpi Xiaocuo decoction and fire acupuncture is effective in the treatment of acne vulgaris(lung meridian wind-heat syndrome),and can shorten symptom regression time and improve endocrine disorder, and it has high safety and will not aggravate the adverse reactions. It can promote the rehabilitation and prognosis of the disease.
