Effects of amlodipine combined with sertraline in the treatment of moderate to severe depression after stroke and its impact on PCT,CRP,and IL-6
Objective To explore the effects of amlodipine combined with sertraline in the treatment of moderate to severe depression(PSD)after stroke and its impact on calcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),and interleukin-6(IL-6).Methods A total of 80 patients with post-stroke depression(PSD)who were treated in the Department of Psychiatry at the Seventh People's Hospital of Wenzhou City from June 2022 to November 2023 were selected.According to the random number table method, the participants were randomly divided into a con-trol group(treated with oral sertraline,n=40)and an observation group(treated with amlodipine combined with oral sertraline,n=40).The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared, and the changes in depression,neurologi-cal function improvement, and related serum factors were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate of clinical efficacy in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 1,2,and 3 months of treatment, the depression symptom(PHQ-9)score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);The neurological function(NIHSS)score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment, the levels of PCT.CRP,and IL-6 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of amlodipine and sertraline has a good therapeutic effect on patients with moderate to severe PSD after stroke, which can improve depressive symptoms and neurological function, and at the same time reduce the levels of inflammatory markers PCT,CRP,and IL-6.
