Effects of Huaiqihuang Granules combined with salbutamol sulfate and budesonide aerosol inhalation on children with bronchial asthma complicated with pneumonia and the influence on inflammatory factors and pulmonary function
Objective To investigate the effects of Huaiqihuang Granules combined with salbutamol sul-fate and budesonide aerosol inhalation on children with bronchial asthma(BA)complicated with pneumonia and the influence on inflammatory factors and pulmonary function.Methods A total of 160 children with BA com-plicated with pneumonia who were treated in Ningbo Zhenhai District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to December 2023 were divided into a control group(n=80)and an observation group(n=80)by treatment.Children in the control group were treated with salbutamol sulfate and budesonide aerosol inhalation,while the children in the observation group were treated additionally with Huaiqihuang Granules.Observing and comparing the disappearance time of clinical symptoms,lung function,and serum inflammatory factors between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);the disappearance time of clinical symptoms in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 7 days of treatment,the forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV 1),forced vital capacity(FVC),and FEV1/FVC ratio in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-4,and IL-6 in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).No adverse reactions occurred in either group during the treat-ment period.Conclusion Compared with salbutamol sulfate and budesonide aerosol inhalation,the combined treatment with Huaiqihuang Granules is more effective in the treatment of children with BA and pneumonia.It can relieve clinical symptoms,improve pulmonary function,and reduce inflammatory response more significantly.
