Effects of Kuntai capsule combined with Fenmaotong in menopausal insomnia patients with depression
Objective To investigate the application value of Kuntai capsule combined with Fenmaotong in perimenopausal syndrome(climacteric) patients with insomnia and depression.Methods A total of 90 patients with climacteric insomnia and depression admitted to the 988 Hospital of the Joint Service Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected by convenience sampling.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into Fenmaotong group,Kuntai capsule group,and combination group,with 30 cases in each group.The clinical efficacy,sleep quality,depression level,sex hormone level,quality of life,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared among the three groups.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the combination group(96.7％) was higher than that in the Femo-stone group(70.0％) and the Kuntai Capsule group(73.3％),with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Be-fore treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in sleep quality,depression level,sex hormone level,and quality of life among the three groups (P>0.05).After treatment,the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI),Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS),luteinizing hormone (LH),and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) scores in the combination group were lower than those in the Femostone group and the Kuntai capsule group;while the estradiol (E2) level and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) scores in the combination group were higher than those in the Femostone group and the Kuntai capsule group,with statistically significant differ-ences (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions occurred during the treatment period in any of the three groups.Conclusion The combination of Kuntai capsules and Fenmaotong is more ef-fective than using them alone.It can enhance the treatment effect of menopausal insomnia with depression,relieve insomnia and depression,improve sex hormone level,enhance quality of life,and is safe and effective.
