Effects of sleep pill patch combined with conventional medication treatment on myocardial injury and sleep quality in patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI
Objective To explore the effect of acupoint application (sleep pills) combined with routine treatment on myocardial injury and sleep quality after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods A total of 150 AMI patients who underwent PCI at the First People's Hospital of Linping District,Hangzhou City,Zhejiang Province, from June 2021 to March 2023,were enrolled in this study. They were randomly divided into a control group (n=75,receiving conventional treatment) and an ob-servation group (n=75,receiving conventional treatment plus acupoint application therapy with sleep pill) using a random number table method. The levels of myocardial injury indicators, echocardiographic parameters, sleep quality, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, the levels of cTnⅠ and NT proBNP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (t=3.265,4.265,5.035,P<0.05);three months after surgery, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (t=4.235,5.038,5.892,P<0.05),while there was no significant dif-ference in left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD) and left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD) be-tween the 2 group (t=0.665,0.765,0.780,P>0.05),respectively. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores and MIDAS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (t=4.685,5.368,5.032,P<0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application (sleep pills) combined with routine treatment can improve myocardial injury in AMI patients after PCI,enhance cardiac function and sleep quality, and thus improve the overall quality of life.
